Vocational evaluation is a comprehensive process to determine the vocational potential of individuals with disabilities.
Many employability factors such as work attitude, physical tolerance, basic reading and math skills, level of personal and social adjustment, and learning style are assessed. Results are based upon observation and situational assessments, either in the community and/or in facility-based programs, as appropriate. Useful information is generated for the individual's own knowledge, Individual Education Plan (IEP) development, transition planning, vocational training program placement, and job placement. Recommendations for job accommodations and guidelines to support the individual for success are also included.
