Services for Children with Disabilities

 

Clinical Disability Services

The Barber National Institute in Erie, PA offers a wide range of clinical services for individuals with disabilities from birth through adolescence and the teenage years, including therapies, early intervention and behavioral health rehabilitation services. Our services are designed to meet the unique needs and challenges for each individual and family. Our highly qualified staff is committed to providing the best possible care for the children and teenagers they serve and helping them reach their fullest potential.

Education Private Schooling

The Elizabeth Lee Black School, an approved private school at the Barber National Institute, provides preschool and school-aged children with high quality, educational programs to meet their individual needs. Our faculty implements state-of-the-art services to to meet and exceed the highest standard of education for our children. We ensure that our classrooms maintain a welcoming environment for all of our students to maximize their learning experience.

Camps for Kids with Disabilities

The Barber National Institute offers multiple camps to suite your child's needs including Camp Shamrock, Connections Camp, Keep Connected and Ready, Set, Ride! Specifically geared toward children with autism and developmental disabilities our camps offer a range of therapeutic and recreational options to meet the unique needs of children and teens.

We provide services that will foster greater independence, increase community involvement and improve social interaction.

 

Adult Day Services Box

Adult Day Services offer an assortment of services to meet the needs of individuals with developmental challenges and make the most of individual strengths. 

 

Adult Residential Box

Adult Residential Services offer a multitude of programs for their residents including Community Homes, Supported Living, Respite Care, Intermediate Care Facilities and Lifesharing through Family Living.

 

Lakeside Senior Center Box

Lakeside Senior Center focuses on maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens with developmental disabilities. 

Family Support Services

Every family has unique needs, strengths and preferences. Our Family Support Services offer many programs which are flexible in meeting your needs.

Our Agency with Choice (AWC) program is a financial management/participant directed service available to individuals with an intellectual disability who reside in their own residence or the home of family.

"SibSessions" are monthly events for children ages 5 to 16 who have a brother or sister with a developmental disability.

Family & Community Support Services offer a variety of support groups for  family members of individuals with developmental disabilities, including parents, grandparents and caregivers.
